Gabby and Mason got married at The Magnolia in Kansas City, and the whole day was just one joyful, effervescent, laughter-filled celebration of their love.
As a St. Louis Wedding photographer: sign. me. up.
This venue was so pretty to shoot at. From the wallpaper in the getting ready suite, to the lush trees in the courtyard, to the perfect reception space… it was a photographer‘s dream.
These two lovebirds are both KC locals, and it felt extra special that they asked me to come in from St. Louis to capture it all. From start to finish, the focus was never on perfect poses or timelines… it was on being present, soaking in the joy, and celebrating with their people.
Gabby looked stunning in her off-the-shoulder gown with a full, textured skirt that caught the light beautifully throughout the day. The way it twirled just perfectly captured the joy of the day.
I also loved the way she paired her look with fun pink heels for a pop of color to coordinate with her bouquet. Mason kept it classic in a navy tux, looking sharp and timeless. Their wedding party brought even more color to the day: cheerful pops of red, yellow, pink, and blue dresses mixed with tailored suits, all coming together in the most fun, vibrant way.
We started things off with a sweet first look tucked into the garden of The Madison, where their ceremony would later take place.
It was intimate and relaxed, just the two of them enjoying a few quiet moments before the whirlwind of the day. From there, we knocked out family photos early, which meant that once the ceremony ended, Gabby and Mason could dive straight into celebrating.
Their outdoor ceremony was beautiful. The soft string lights above, a breeze tossing Gabby’s veil, flowers dancing in the wind, and laughter echoing through the courtyard. No stress, no fuss, just the kind of wedding that feels like love in its truest form.
The reception inside The Magnolia was just as dreamy. Exposed brick walls, romantic candlelight, and a hanging installation above the sweetheart table made the space feel warm and inviting. I’m a sucker for good florals!
After heartfelt toasts and a sweet first dance, Gabby and Mason hit the dance floor and never looked back.
At sunset, we slipped outside for a few quick portraits on the streets of downtown Kansas City. The city backdrop and the way they looked at each other: it was five minutes of pure magic before they raced back in to party at The Magnolia with their guests.
Gabby and Mason’s day was exactly what weddings should be: joyful, stress-free, and centered on love. I was so honored to be there to capture it all.
